Meet Tex. Tex is an 8-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart of gold. He joined the Laredo Animal Protective Society after a challenging journey. Originally adopted in 2020, Tex thrived in a loving home for over five years until circumstances changed, leading to his return in 2025. During that time, he developed a thyroid deficiency that affected his health and caused some fur loss, but thanks to the dedicated care at LAPS, he’s on the mend. Tex is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He adores cuddling and enjoys the company of people and other animals. Despite the hurdles he has faced, his spirit remains unbroken, and he’s ready for a second chance at a forever home where he can be loved and cherished once again. He may not be your traditional German Shepherd appearance right now, but Tex's loyalty and warmth shine brightly. With a little love and understanding, he’s sure to bloom into the remarkable companion he was meant to be.
