About Rocky Conklin

Rocky Conklin is a classic Rottweiler—devoted to his people, eager to be involved in every part of their lives, and happiest when there’s a job to do. He weighs about 100 lbs and thrives on structure, activity, and close human company. Rocky was surrendered because his family relocated to a condo that wouldn't allow his breed. At intake, he showed that familiar Rottie bond, wagging his docked tail, handing out kisses, and cooperating for a bath and vaccines. Nail trims aren't his favorite, but with plenty of walks and swimming, his nails are in good shape now. He slots in well with other dogs—though he prefers to be the alpha, so a medium to large, laid-back canine companion would be best. Rocky enjoys car rides, is house trained, and walks well on leash, but don’t forget he’s strong enough to surprise you if his interest is piqued. He’ll happily join you during outdoor chores and keeps close when you’re outside. Rocky is polite with children but will do best in an adult or teen home. He may be protective around strangers in his territory, showing natural Rottie instincts. He doesn't get along with cats, showing too much interest for a calm household. He came in a bit out of shape and had some minor health quirks: small cyst-like masses, old eye scars, marks on his legs likely due to boredom, and age-related cloudiness in his eyes, none of which slow him down now. Regular activity and attention have transformed him—he’s now fit, happy, and ready for new adventures. He’s game for kayaking, will do almost anything for a squeaky toy, and loves swimming. Rocky’s heart is mended, but he needs a home where his people are around most of the time. If you’re ready for a loyal, balanced companion with plenty of spirit, Rocky will reward you tenfold.
