This medium-sized, adult male Shepherd/Basenji mix has a striking red, black, and golden short coat. Stew is house trained, has been neutered, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has special needs due to a leg amputation but has completed rehabilitation and maintains a gentle, loving nature. He is currently being cared for at K9 Rouge Rescue.

He was discovered in a small rural shelter after coming in as a stray, seriously injured with fractures in his hind leg, a shattered patella, and even a bullet wound—something no animal should have to endure. Thanks to caring rescuers, Stew received urgent medical attention, underwent successful surgery to amputate his severely damaged leg, and completed his rehabilitation with amazing resilience. Throughout every hardship, Stew has shown nothing but love and an incredibly gentle temperament. He’s now healthy, healed, and eager to find a wonderful forever home where he will be cherished as much as he deserves. Stew gets along well with other dogs and adores people.
