About Bones
Bones is a reserved and sensitive soul who hasn’t quite learned to trust the world yet. He’s spent most of his life in the confines of a shelter, after being rescued as a puppy from a tough situation. Each morning you’ll find Bones at his best: eager for his first walk, almost cheerful, soaking in the quiet hours before the shelter buzz begins. Once back in his kennel, though, he retreats into his safe space, preferring solitude but not wholly immune to kindness—he’ll venture out for treats from familiar hands. Given a stretch of leash and a little patience, Bones shows another side. He enjoys gentle pets, particularly a good ear rub and a surprising fondness for butt scratches. His leash manners improve with every walk, motivated by calm, positive attention. While he finds safety in routine and his little house, patience and one-on-one connections go a long way for him. With each return visit, he waits more openly, hoping for another gentle moment. Ready to meet a dog who just needs someone willing to go at his pace? Ready to fall in love?
