Allow me to introduce you to the incredible Stanley — a true gem among pets! This charming 12-ish-year-old beagle/corgi mix (with a delightful sprinkle of basset, just for extra flair) has a magical ability to capture hearts faster than you can say 'puppy love!' 🌟 Stanley’s journey began as a stray, lost but still holding onto hope, arriving at JPAWS in mid-September. Neutered and microchipped already, he was ready for a family, yet no one came to claim this sweet senior. When he graced our dog adoption event at Jefferson Feed in November, we couldn’t resist those turned-out feet and his adorable low-rider body that feels like a warm embrace. His old-man sweetness is simply irresistible!💖 This delightful fellow has radiated kindness and happiness since joining us. He absolutely loves his daily jaunts — that remarkable beagle nose is on the case, sniffing every blade of grass like it’s the most thrilling mystery novel! 🐶 While his eyesight and hearing are a tad selective (let’s just call it ‘senior sophistication’), his joy in exploring the world is infectious. Capturing his playful spirit in a picture was quite the challenge, as he’s a whirlwind of motion, but our Programs Director managed to get a snapshot of him sitting in her lap (cue all the heart eyes! 😍). If she didn’t already have a small canine army of 14, Stanley would be right there with her! When he spent a night at our volunteer coordinator’s home, the joy was palpable. Stanley adores being close to his person and made instant friends with their senior small terrier, using the doggy door with just a couple of lessons — impressive, right? 🐕‍🦺 Our sweet gentleman is heartworm negative, incredibly friendly, and gentle as a breeze. He’s just looking for a cozy couch to call his own and a quiet home where he can settle into his golden years. If you have room in your heart for this lovable low-rider, then Stanley could be the answer to your dreams! 🌈 And let’s not forget, he met our store cat Giuseppe, a true feline diva, and sensing Giuseppe’s disdain for dogs, simply turned away to continue his search for adventures. So, if you have feline friends at home, don't worry — Stanley could very well be the chill companion they need! 😸 It’s time to give this wonderful old soul the best chapter yet.
