Koa was found with an electrical wire wrapped around his neck and what appeared to be electrical burns all over his body. A good samaritan took him to the vet for initial care, but was not able to handle his long term healing. While the majority of wounds have finally healed, Koa suffers from neuropathy and will bite and chew certain spots back open. He currently lives in a soft cone while we try different medications for relief. In all likelihood, he will be on daily medication (he takes pills easily) as well as a monthly injection to manage his condition. He may still need to wear a soft cone the majority of the time. There are many spots where the fur will never grow back (especially around his neck), so his appearance can be off-putting to some people. However, we in rescue LOVE this goofy dude. He loves to talk, loves feet, and loves climbing to places that make you think "how the heck did you get up there?". He is super playful and has enjoyed kittens that are fostered in the same home with him. He is cat selective with other adults and would need a slow intro for successful integration. We require kittens be adopted in pairs when there is not a playful cat already in the home. Single adoption fee under 6 months is $125 or $175 for a pair. Over 6 months, the adoption fee is $100 for a single or $150 for a pair. All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, combo tested, dewormed, microchipped, and have age appropriate vaccines.
