About Reggie

Reggie is a young, quirky American Field Bred English Setter with a big heart and boundless energy. He came to his current foster as an owner surrender after struggling with health issues that have since improved dramatically with the right medication and care. Reggie used to circle and drool due to undiagnosed Rocky Mountain spotted fever, but these behaviors have resolved now that he’s on a good routine. He does have a few quirks—outdoor grilling and fires are triggers for him, so these must be avoided—but he’s otherwise a joyful, loving dog. At home, Reggie is both crate and house trained. He’s happiest when he has a yard to run around in, loves to chase birds, and just as quickly settles into lap dog mode for snuggles. He gets along with every dog and is completely safe with cats. His recall is solid when out in the yard. Reggie is smart and would thrive with someone who wants to train him in activities like FastCAT, Barn Hunt, Obedience, or Agility, but he is gun shy and must never go to a hunting home. A securely fenced yard is absolutely required for his safety and happiness. Reggie’s foster says he’s one of the easiest dogs they’ve ever cared for and is truly a special boy. Give Reggie a chance and you’ll see how rewarding an energetic, snuggly Setter can be. Your new best friend is just one click away.
