Jennie is a senior female Domestic Short Hair cat with a medium build, residing at the Humane Society/SPCA of Nelson County. As a diabetic, Jennie does require ongoing insulin injections and would do best in a stable, loving home where her needs can be met.

About Jennie

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Jennie's tale is a special one: when she first joined her foster home in October 2023, she was thought to be close to her final days. Diagnosed at nine years old with diabetes and suspected cancer, her future looked grim. However, Jennie had her own plans and has truly thrived in a loving environment. Her health has improved remarkably, with her coat now thick and soft and her appetite hearty as ever. Jennie is a spirited senior who brings laughter to her household, whether she’s singing 'rah! rah! rah!' at mealtime, squeezing herself into a light bulb box, or curling up on yoga mats. She loves to rub noses, be carried around to look out the window, and enjoys human companionship. As a diabetic, she requires insulin injections twice daily, twelve hours apart, but she remains gentle, inquisitive, and affectionate. Jennie would be happiest as the only cat in a quiet home where she can reign as queen. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet and resilient feline, Jennie could be the perfect companion for you. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
