Maddy is just over a year old and weighs around 53 pounds. Life hasn’t made things easy for her, and she’s looking for a home that can offer patience, quiet, and gentle reassurance. At her core, Maddy is sweet and eager for kindness—her shyness shows up as trembling and hiding, especially in new settings and particularly around men. Despite her nerves, she’s never shown an ounce of aggression. She warms up quickest to women and holds fast to any gentle hand she can trust. The outdoors is where Maddy’s personality really breaks through. She lights up in secure, fenced spaces, zooming around with goofy playfulness and curiosity. Fetch still confuses her, but she loves a good chase and rolling in the grass. She does best with a confident, friendly dog companion and leans on them for guidance. Cats are no problem—she’s gentle and respectful, and even horses couldn’t ruffle her. Maddy’s leash skills are about as good as they get; she stays by your side, never pulls, and could easily be walked by a child or anyone with mobility needs. She’s crate trained and sleeps soundly at night. Maddy is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, and completed a confidence-building program at PAWS Orofino.
