My name is Shadow, and I'm a 2.5-year-old male with quite a colorful personality and a painful, trauma-filled past. I'm an athletic, curious, and smart dog who can be very cautious and self-protective when I meet new people. I tend to be a little skeptical and skittish at first, but with time, patience, and consistency, I can warm up to new friends. Just give me some space and let me approach you when I feel comfortable. I've got an affectionate and silly side to me, too, especially when I'm feeling safe and secure. I love to play, and I'm always ready for a zoomy workout. Just make sure you don't surprise me too quickly, as I can be a little sensitive around my neck and head due to prior use of electric shock collars! I'm very hands-off until I get to know you, and prefer to be the initiator of any interactions. But who knows, maybe with the right introduction, I could learn to bond with you and be your bestie? The adoption donation is $450 and includes a general vet exam, neuter surgery, heartworm testing and/or treatment (as necessary), shots, microchip, and worming.
