About Shadow
Shadow is a 5-year-old male American Eskimo Dog with a striking white and cream long coat who’s been through more than his share. With a history of trauma, including harsh training equipment, he approaches new people with caution and takes time to trust. Shadow is quick, athletic, and very smart. He prefers people to give him space until he feels comfortable enough to make the first move. Once he feels secure, his goofy and affectionate personality starts to show, and he loves a good round of zoomies. He is sensitive around his neck and head, so handling must be gentle and slow. Shadow needs an experienced Eskimo dog owner willing to be patient—especially since he’s not yet house trained and cannot be placed with cats or children. He does get along with other dogs given a careful introduction. He’s professionally trained and will thrive where he can take things at his own pace with someone who understands his needs. Shadow is looking for a home in Houston, TX where his next chapter can finally be calm and safe. Shadow is a Taurus, so expect a dog who’s loyal, grounded, and a little stubborn in the best way.
