About Bear

Bear is a young Chesapeake Bay Retriever who is affectionate and always ready for a good cuddle. With his short, red-brown coat and some white markings, he stands out in a crowd. Though his potty training and consistency in life are still works in progress, he's making strides and benefits from structure and routine. Bear is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and stays current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He’s also been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm. Separation anxiety has been part of Bear’s experience, likely from changes and uncertainty, and he’s currently on Fluoxetine to help manage kennel stress. He does well around kids and forms strong bonds with his people. Bear gets along with some dogs after proper introductions and patience, but he isn’t a fit for homes with cats. He’s looking for someone with compassion and willingness to provide him with the stability he’s missed. Born May 1, Bear is a Taurus — you’ll see his steady and loyal side every day.
