About George

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! George is a charming German Shepherd dog who, along with his brother Greg, was found as a stray in a local park. Since joining the rescue program, George has enjoyed life in foster care where he has shown himself to be very friendly and well-mannered. He and Greg share a remarkable bond, and it is hoped they can be adopted together. Both get along well with other dogs and have even been cat-tested, showing little interest in the felines they met. George weighs around 80 pounds and is strong, so an experienced large dog owner is important, especially since he can pull on walks. He will thrive in a family ready to give him love and keep him involved in daily activities. George comes fully vetted—he is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, protected against heartworm, flea, and tick, has received worm treatment, and is microchipped. While fostering has started his house training, adopters should be prepared to continue his education with patience. If you are prepared for the responsibilities of raising and caring for a dog, George will make a loyal companion. Please note, adoptions require an approved application and a trip to Murray, KY, with no shipping option available. If selected as the adopter, you’ll have plenty of time to meet and bond with George before finalizing any commitment. Fun fact: With a late December birthday, George is a Capricorn—he’s likely ambitious, disciplined, and loyal, ready to join your family’s next adventure! Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
