Racine
AvailableRacine lives in Farmersville, TX and is a spayed female, about 1 year and 9 months old. Her heritage is mostly American Staffordshire Terrier mixed with German Shepherd and a bit of Pit Bull and Bulldog. She’s a medium-sized dog who is house trained and up-to-date on her vaccines. Racine gets along with dogs, but not cats. She has plenty of energy and is looking for an active household.
About Racine
Racine’s DNA says it all: mostly American Staffordshire Terrier with plenty of German Shepherd and a bit of Pit Bull and Bulldog in the mix. She runs high on energy, sharp on wits, and has a protective streak. This is a dog that wants a job—whether it’s keeping an eye on her people or diving into whatever activity you throw at her. Her start wasn’t easy. Racine narrowly avoided being put down at nine months old when her first family decided not to train her. Thankfully, a vet intervened, saw her potential, and now after professional training, she’s prepared for a real home where someone understands her intensity and drive. She’s now leash savvy, loves to tag along in the car, and is up for anything active. She gets along well with other dogs and likes having canine friends to play with. Cats and small dogs? Too much stimulation—she’s not left alone with them in her foster and would do best in a home without either. The same goes for small kids. Her energy just isn’t a great match. She’s house and crate trained and used to a household where someone’s always around to let her out—she hasn’t had to hold it long. Racine is fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and on regular preventive meds. She’s ready for a home that wants an athletic, loyal partner with all the grit and go of her breeds. Questions about Racine
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Racine, with her high-energy American Staffordshire Terrier and German Shepherd mix, does best in a home with room to be active—think a house with a yard or regular access to open spaces. Apartments may be challenging unless she gets daily vigorous exercise.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix, especially with Racine's energy, really benefits from a sizeable, securely fenced yard or regular trips to parks where she can run and play. She isn’t the type to be content with short walks; space to move is key.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Racine’s breed mix has the potential to be great with older, respectful children but, in her case, her high energy means she would do better in a home without small children to avoid overwhelming situations for both sides.
