About Gemma
Gemma has been waiting a long time for her person—over 500 days in fact. She’s a large, brown and white pitbull mix, spayed, and about three years old. Gemma’s first years were rough; she arrived at the shelter severely neglected and afraid of people. But with time, care, and the gentle help of staff and volunteers, she’s come out on the other side more confident, much healthier, and more trusting of humans. Gemma does best with women, so she’s searching specifically for a female adopter willing to visit a few times and let her warm up at her own pace. She isn’t looking for a home with children, and she wants a big backyard or even some acreage to call her own. Gemma does not get along with cats. She’s house-trained and her vaccinations are up to date. If you can offer patience, space, and understanding, Gemma is ready to meet you. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
