About Bert & Ernie
Bert & Ernie are 4- and 5-year-old small Chihuahua mixes who have spent most of their lives outdoors. Adjusting to indoor comforts has been a new but welcome shift for them. Simple things like soft beds and gentle walks are recent discoveries, and they’re figuring it all out with surprising patience. Although both start out timid, kindness and a steady hand reveal their gentle, sweet personalities. Progress is visible each day, especially with leash training and responding to gentle affection. This bonded pair are inseparable—Ernie's confidence helps Bert feel braver, while Bert keeps Ernie company and eager for the next round of neck scritches. They thrive best with structure, a calm home, and people willing to give them extra time to come out of their shells. Bert & Ernie get along with dogs, cats, and children, so they should settle in well with families or singles alike. They’re not yet fully house trained, but with their willingness to learn, consistency will pay off. Ready to help a deserving duo find out what home truly means?
