About Sterling
Sterling landed at the rescue after his previous shelter closed, and he’s been making strides ever since. At his core, Sterling just wants to be in the center of home life. He loves to stretch out on the couch beside you, especially after your workday—he’ll turn even your downtime into something better. He’s got that great combination: plenty of affection, likes a good play session, and never says no to a sunny walk. Rain, snow, or storms? He’s all about indoor comforts then. Sterling’s a pro at helping in the kitchen by cleaning up dropped snacks. He already has 'sit', 'spin', 'stay', and 'down' down pat (and nearly has 'shake' too). He does well with other dogs, especially ones who love a good wrestle or game of tug. He gets a bit revved up when he sees other dogs out walking, but treats help keep him focused. Sterling is house trained and crate trained—with treats, he’ll head in willingly. Due to separation anxiety, he will bark some when left alone and needs a sturdy crate, not a wire one, but regular exercise and structure have really helped. Sterling is looking for a reliable, loving home to really settle in and feel like he belongs. Every animal deserves that. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
