About Opal
Nobody can believe Opal, the small hound queen, is still searching for a home. She has a true hound spiritâstatuesque, dignified, and happiest when perched in a sunny window or yard, quietly keeping watch for birds and squirrels. At around 8 years old and 35-40 lbs, Opal is a classic senior: easygoing, affectionate, and mostly content to lounge after a little outdoor exploring. Sheâs shy at first but forms a loyal bond once settled, preferring calm environments and gentle routines. Opal prefers to steer clear of loud, unpredictable kids, though she tolerates the occasional wild toddler with graceâshe really lights up with older children or adults who let her soak up affection. Opal relishes being the center of attention and would do well as an only dog. Sheâs well-behaved when left home alone (not destructive), house trained, and rarely needs crating. Currently on slow-kill heartworm treatmentâwhich doesnât dampen her enjoyment of short romps or quiet walksâsheâs a mellow companion happiest with lifeâs simple pleasures. Opal is in Spring Hill, TN awaiting someone who appreciates a laid-back, loving hound. Give her the retirement she deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
