About Lincoln
Meet Lincoln, a sharp and affectionate Labrador Retriever who narrowly escaped euthanasia after landing at a San Antonio shelter. Hit by a car and never reclaimed, he’s since built trust and is ready for a home. Lincoln weighs in under 50 lbs, a nice fit for those wanting a mid-sized companion. The classic Labrador love of food and eagerness to please runs strong—this guy is highly trainable and quick to bond. He’s known to rest his paws on your chest just to lock eyes like he means it. Get him excited and he’ll throw his head back with a happy "roo." Lincoln is surprisingly low-maintenance indoors. He’s housebroken, kennel trained, and happiest sprawled across the floor between activities. No destruction. Gentle, mellow, and content with downtime, but always up for a walk or trail run. Give him a Kong or lick mat and he’ll focus for ages. Mealtime? Prepare for drool—and those longing stares. Socially, Lincoln’s got some history; past dog encounters left him insecure and best suited as the only pet. He’s made gains with leash neutrality but prefers space from other dogs. He’ll need adopters who respect boundaries, especially around his sensitive back legs. For these reasons, households with teens or adults are best. Currently boarded in Austin, TX, Lincoln is adoptable nationwide, and he’s also seeking a Texas-area foster. With patience and the right setting, he’ll offer loyalty and affectionate companionship for years to come. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Labrador Retrievers like Lincoln appreciate access to outdoor space, but can adapt to smaller yards or frequent walks. They enjoy daily exercise and time outside, but don't require a massive backyard if their activity needs are met elsewhere.
