About Meriweather
Click apply to start the adoption process. Meriweather is a resilient senior cat who has overcome several challenges in her life. After being transferred to the shelter when another rescue closed, it was discovered that she is blind due to untreated high blood pressure, which has since been managed with daily medication mixed into her favorite canned food. Meriweather recently underwent a dental procedure that left her with few teeth, but she happily enjoys canned fish and soft foods. Her most recent blood tests all came back healthy, giving her a positive outlook for her golden years. During the day, Meriweather enjoys independent playtime in the hallway with her catnip bags and spring toys, showing a playful and feisty personality. She is easygoing about her routine, calmly returning to her safe space in the evening without complaint. While she has adapted remarkably well to shelter life, Meriweather would truly thrive in a quiet home without dogs or young children, where she can enjoy gentle companionship and the comfort of a loving lap. If you’re ready to make a lasting difference for a blind senior cat, consider scheduling a visit to meet Meriweather at HEARTT Animal Refuge. As a Capricorn, she carries a determined and steadfast energy that makes her extra special.
