Gilly was a holy terror when he first arrived at HUA. Caregivers could not go near him and he trusted nobody. However, a person who knew him took a shine to him, and she brought him home. Gilly thrived as a member of a family with both a human sibling and a canine sibling. He was a very good boy, and he was as happy as a dog can be. When the parents decided that they wanted to take on a new venture that would not include Gilly, he was returned to HUA. Gilly was heartbroken over this situation, and it took him quite some time to allow his caregivers to show him love and affection. Now that he has acclimated back to a shelter environment, Gilly is happier and more content, but a deep sadness lurks within him. He has his good dog friends and the caregivers and volunteers who he loves, but Gilly is a homebody and he wants that comfort again. He is still rather quirky and can be choosy when it comes to the people he likes, but he is devoted, loyal and loving to the humans in his orbit. Visit Gilly at www.hua.org!
