About Bonnie
Bonnie and her sister Claudia came to Healing Species after a tough stretch at animal control, where life behind bars left them both visibly shaken. Previously, they’d known the comfort of a family home until a domestic violence situation and an eviction changed everything. Bonnie has proven herself to be potty trained and especially affectionate. She adapts well on her own or could be adopted together with her sister if you’re open to a bonded pair. Once Bonnie decides you’re her person, her loyalty is unwavering. There’s an initial shyness, but it melts into pure devotion and trust. She’s estimated to be about three years old as of May 2025, with a medium-sized, short brindle and tricolor coat that’s easy to manage. Bonnie gets along well with other dogs and children—it’s easy to picture her fitting into a household looking for a gentle yet brave companion. Bonnie is currently in Orangeburg, SC and is ready for her next chapter, with the hope of finding a stable, caring home that can offer plenty of reassurance and love. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
