Meeka
AvailableMeeka is a seal point Domestic Short Hair with a short coat who currently resides in North Myrtle Beach, SC. At 4 years and 4 months old, she's an adult spayed female cat whose journey has included overcoming obesity. She's fully house trained, up to date on vaccinations, and will need a family dedicated to continuing her special diet plan to reach her healthiest weight.
About Meeka
Meeka came up from Florida in July carrying far too much weight for her joints to handle. She was so heavy that her knees and elbows struggled just to keep her mobile. In the past three months, thanks to careful vet care and a strict diet, she has made real strides—her movement and muscle tone have improved, though she’s still working toward a healthy target of 12 lbs. Meeka will need a special adopter or foster who can stick to her regimen and be diligent about controlled feeding. She does best if no other cats are around at mealtime, as she’s a notorious food thief. But her personality shines: Meeka is talkative, follows you closely (especially when she's hungry), and loves to climb in bed to sleep with you nightly. Adopters need to be on board with strict nutritional guidelines and vaccination protocols set by our rescue. This means annual titer testing rather than repeated vaccinations, for the long-term health of every cat. Meeka's full vet file will be shared at adoption, and you can expect total transparency. She’s looking for someone ready to invest in her next chapter, one measured meal at a time. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
