This stunning girl originally came to her rescue three years ago, escaping the confines of a Riverside Shelter. At just 5 years young, her story is one of overcoming adversity. 🐾 When Maple first arrived, she was filled with fear and uncertainty. She would sprint away, yelping and screaming at any attempt to reach for her. It was evident that the world had not treated her kindly; she showed stress patches and wouldn’t dare eat out of a bowl meant for dogs. But oh, did she have a nose for people food! 😋 With the loving guidance of her foster family, Maple slowly began to trust again. She transformed from a frightened pup into a confident and spirited companion. When she found her forever home, it was like a fairy tale! 🌈 She was going on trails with horses, camping under the stars, and even swimming in a pool. Maple was the dog every family dreams of—calmly keeping the kids and other dogs in line! But alas, life threw a curveball. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this gentle spirit found herself back at the Riverside Shelter last October. 😥 We rushed in to rescue her, but the stress of the shelter left her feeling scared once more. Thankfully, a new temporary foster home welcomed her with open arms, allowing her to decompress and regain the trust she once had. Now, we see glimpses of the loving Maple who still has a heart full of hope. 💖 While she thrives in a calm environment, she still craves her personal space and prefers not to be touched without permission. Maple flourishes best in a home with older children, 12 years and up. Due to her past, she struggles with leashes and collars and doesn’t enjoy walks. Instead, she relishes her special treats, cozy blankets, and the warmth of the sun. Once she bonds with someone special, Maple's loyalty knows no bounds; she will love and protect them fiercely for life. 🌼 Currently, she uses potty pads, is crate trained, and loves trailing her person around the house like a tiny shadow.
