He joined the rescue as a tiny kitten back in 2020, having been born to a feral mom in challenging conditions. With a difficult start to life, it took significant time, care, and patience to help him recover and thrive. As a result, he wasn’t ready for adoption until he was about 6 months old, and by then, being a bit older and bigger than most kittens, he was sadly often passed over. James is a gentle, quiet soul who may take a little while to feel completely comfortable—but once he does, you'll uncover an affectionate, playful companion waiting behind those mesmerizing golden eyes. He enjoys gentle cuddles on his terms, loves rolling over for scratches, and will reward you with soft meows when he seeks your attention. Although he’s not the biggest fan of being picked up, playtime is his absolute favorite—especially with feather toys. He's even become an expert at playing fetch! When it comes to winning his heart, snacks are the answer—James’ love for treats is legendary. He’s also harness-comfortable, making him an ideal buddy for safe outdoor exploration or even leash walks, if that’s your style. Currently living in a foster home with both cats and dogs, James tends to be indifferent to other cats, though he can sometimes be persuaded to play. He prefers to keep his distance from dogs, though he coexists peacefully. James shines brightest in a calm, patient home willing to give him the time and love he needs to adjust at his own pace.
