About Hippo

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Hippo is all about big personality in a little body! Indoors, he’s the epitome of a mellow couch potato—lazy, easygoing, and wonderfully affectionate. But when he steps outside, his adventurous spirit shines through; he adores exploring, going to the beach, and hopping in the car for new adventures. Hippo’s confident nature does mean he needs a strong handler: someone comfortable redirecting his excitement, especially when he enthusiastically barks at smaller dogs on walks. He thrives with a calm, pack-leader presence to show him the ropes. When introduced properly over a few weeks with crate training, Hippo gets along well with other dogs, just as he did in his foster home. This fun-loving companion even conquered a Las Vegas trip and proved himself housebroken in a hotel room, making him a great vacation buddy. Neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations, Hippo is ready for an active, adventurous soul to show him the good life he deserves after overcoming big odds at the shelter. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
