Jenny is a 4-5 year old Mountain Cur mix now settling in at Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Her brindled coat catches the light whenever she follows her new friends around the yard. When Jenny first arrived, she kept her distance and didn’t trust easily. After a short time watching the other dogs and figuring things out, she started to show glimmers of affection—licking volunteers’ hands and sharing gentle kisses, especially with the women at the kennel. She’s still more cautious with men but will go outside with whoever she trusts in the moment. Jenny has connected particularly well with Wendy, a hound puppy in the group, and you can see her spirit lift when Wendy is nearby. Her tail, once tucked, now wags when she feels safe. Jenny gets along with other dogs and, as her confidence builds, her boundaries widen. She has a vet appointment soon for vaccines, a heartworm test, and a microchip, with ongoing care to be provided.
