Mama Maia arrived at a shelter with her own three kittens, only to take in five more newborns needing a mom. She brought them all safely through, and now she is finally ready for a life of her own. Maia gets along comfortably with both dogs and cats, and welcomes gentle attention from people—she doesn't always seek out affection, but once you start petting her, she relaxes into it completely. Recently, Maia was diagnosed with asthma and will need inhaler medication for life. She is still adjusting to using inhalers, but it is expected she’ll feel much better as she gets accustomed to it. Maia has shown calm and loving patience through all her changes and will quietly soak up the warmth from a home willing to give her steady care.
