About Hazel

Start your journey together! Apply now. Hazel is a spayed female German Shepherd Dog being fostered in Round Rock through German Shepherd Rescue Central Texas. Weighing around 50 lbs and current on vaccinations, Hazel is also heartworm negative and on regular prevention. She’s potty and crate trained, microchipped, and great on a leash. Hazel adores treats and toys—she’ll often be seen carrying one proudly in her mouth! She enjoys spending time with her dog bestie Loki and gets along well with other dogs and people she knows. With children she’s familiar with, Hazel is gentle and protective, making her an excellent family companion for the right home. Though she has a silly and affectionate side, Hazel can be reserved and needs a few meetings to warm up to new people. Her foster mom recommends that applicants come visit and walk her a few times, helping her feel comfortable before making the big move. Hazel would do best in a quieter household with adopters familiar with protective, loyal dogs, and not too many visitors. Bring some treats when you visit, as food is definitely the key to this girl’s heart! If you’re ready for a sweet, loyal addition to your family, Hazel is waiting with paws crossed.
