Vanellope is a spayed female German Shepherd mix, though she looks a lot like a Kelpie. At about a year old, she loves hugs and kisses and tends to stick close to her people. Rescue brought her out of the San Antonio animal control the week of Saint Patrick's Day—she showed up in a green bandana with her reddish-brown coat beaming. Vanellope is on the smaller side for a shepherd-type, weighing in under 40 pounds, and if you enjoy clever, herding-type dogs, she'll be right up your alley. Fostered now in Dale, Texas (just outside Round Rock), she's shown she gets along well with other dogs and seems okay with cats so far, but hasn't spent time around kids. She’s crate trained, house training is going well, and she handles a leash better every day. Her medium-length coat is a soft tan and cream mix, her eyebrows give her a permanently curious look, and her pointy ears are always ready for takeoff.
