Meet Old Yeller JuM! This charming Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Yellow Labrador mix is bursting with personality. Despite the name, he’s far from old and boasts a lovely golden and white coat that’s wonderfully soft. Old Yeller is about 10 years and 5 months old, a distinguished gentleman weighing in at approximately 65-70 pounds. This handsome guy has a sweet disposition, though he has a knack for being stubborn and independent, typical traits of his breed. He thrives under strong leadership, so he’ll need an owner who can guide him effectively. While he gets along with other dogs, he prefers to be the only pet so he can soak up all the attention. Old Yeller had a tough start, coming from a high-kill shelter, but he’s fought back and now radiates hope and love. After successfully completing treatment for heartworm, he’s ready to start fresh. A little protective of his space, he’ll need an owner who can manage his need to protect his home. Local adoptions only, preferably in the San Antonio area, to keep him connected to his rescue team. He’s a couch potato at heart, enjoying his downtime as much as playing outside. Old Yeller is not yet fully house trained, but he’s crate trained, making him an excellent companion at home.
