Cooky
AvailableCooky is a male, medium-sized Domestic Medium Hair cat living in Pittsboro, NC. Born in October 2020, he is an adult and is neutered. He’s still learning to trust, but with ongoing patience and gentle care, he continues to make progress.
About Cooky
Cooky didn’t get much of a gentle start in life—he was abandoned at the refuge in late 2022 and likely hadn’t experienced much human kindness before that. Naturally, he’s still got his guard up, but he’s pushing past his old fears a little more each week. Cooky seeks out high perches where he feels safest, but his curiosity sometimes tempts him back down for a play session or a treat. Lately, wand toys have been his way in, and every small breakthrough feels meaningful. He’s best suited for someone patient, either as a long-term foster or an adopter, who’s willing to let him set the pace and keep helping him open up. As a fun fact, Cooky’s birthday in early October makes him a Libra—no wonder he’s working hard on finding balance and trust. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
