About Oscar

Oscar is a medium-sized Blackmouth Cur mix with a ton of athletic energy. He loves playtime and seems happiest when he's running with another energetic dog, especially his foster friend Sheila. Oscar is about three and a half years old and was born in mid-November, which makes him a deep-feeling and fiercely loyal Scorpio. He wandered up to a home in need of food and, after some time spent on his own, found his way to Furever After Rescue where he's living with three other foster dogs. Oscar’s favorite things are fetch, a good chase with a toy, and—when the chaos quiets down—a cozy snuggle and some chest scratches. He's fully grown at about 50 pounds and is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He’s working on learning new commands and his house training is in progress. Oscar gets along well with other energetic dogs his size and really likes structured play. He hasn’t been tested with cats or children yet but can be if needed. Because of his high drive and sometimes pushy play style, Oscar’s best fit is in a home with no cats or small dogs, and with an active adopter who can keep up with his energy. He thrives with another playful, similarly-sized canine companion. Oscar is looking for a family who loves activity and is ready for an exuberant shadow both inside and out.
