About Sassy
********************************************************************************** "Fairly quiet..... if no one else is barking, she isn't barking either." "Will melt you when she places her head in your hands." "Sweet, mellow, and playful." ********************************************************************************** LET'S BE REAL.... Sassy is a very sweet and good girl. She's about 3 or 4 years old, and weighs about 40 lbs. She is both gentle and playful, and can initially seem a bit timid & shy. Kindness and patience go a long way with her, and once she is out of her shell, she is out of her shell! Sassy is a happy and friendly girl. She gets along with other dogs, kiddos and anyone who is kind. We do not however have any experience or exposure with her around kitties. She has though been around chickens and has been ok. Miss Sassy is an affectionate young lady who loves to play and run around! Her energy on a scale of 1-10, rates at the top as a 10! Let it be known, it is a healthy 10, and not a hyper 10. She sees a dog, she wants to play. She hears something out of place, she barks, and when she sees a car or something charging her, she gets concerned, and requests to go home. Sassy was an outside side and her family lost their home...., and who knows what she has been through. While she is happy overall, there's a bit of skittishness playing in the background, where sudden movements or loud noises make her jumpy. So in public spaces, she is best on a leash, because if she is startled in any way, she wants to run home to her safe spot. She is very observant. Her foster calls her NOSY, since she always wants to know what's going on. And in newer surroundings, she is more cautious. What we love about this loyal girl is that while she is energetic, she is also gentle and sweet, with a mellow and laid-back vibe. She doesn't jump on you, and she isn't destructive either. No separation anxiety. She is fine on her own, although she prefers to be social. No storm anxiety or any behavioral issues either. The #1 area where she could improve would be her confidence. We believe a little love and structure could go a long way with her. Someone with a compassionate heart, willing to move her out of her shell (at her own pace) would be a miraculous gift for her. As it stands her foster is spread thin, and is unable to provide her exclusive attention. We trust she will thrive being in a home and environment where she is loved and cherished. Sassy is located in Houston, TX, and is available for transport to your area. The cost of transport is already included in the adoption fee. If you can see this angel in your heart and your life, we are including more details about her below, and the link to the application is at the bottom of this post.
