About Sarah

Sarah was picked up in rough circumstances: pregnant and homeless, she landed in foster care just in time to deliver her puppies somewhere warm and safe. She gave everything to her babies, watched them go off to their new families, and has now been spayed. It’s her turn next. She’s a low-fuss, very sweet dog—a soft, medium-coated shepherd mix, friendly and especially gentle with children (though she’s more comfortable with older kids who move a bit slower, since energetic gestures can spook her). Sarah is fully housetrained and loves belly rubs. She’s happy snuggling on the couch, and sometimes tries to squeeze onto laps much too small for her size. Like many sensitive dogs, she prefers to observe new people from a bit of distance at first, but opens up once she feels secure. Jumping up in excitement is something her fosters are working on; she responds well to coaching. Sarah enjoys the company of other dogs, though she isn’t the first to start a play session. At 70–75 lbs, she’s sturdy but cuddly, and keeps a soft spot for companionship over rambunctiousness. Sarah is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she has the best doggy grin around.
