About West Coast
West Coast is a striking black-and-white pit bull mix who turned his life around after being saved from a crowded Atlanta shelter. He’s settled into his foster home and grown into a happy, healthy, and deeply loving companion—ready for a family of his own. At 6 years old, West Coast weighs around 60 lbs and has a big heart to match. This 'velvet hippo' is goofy, affectionate, and as loyal as they come. Lounging on the couch is one of his favorite pastimes, and he loves to greet his people with a full-body wiggle and plenty of sweet kisses. He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps through the night. He knows his basic commands like "sit" and "stay" and has a great sense of when it’s time to play and when it’s time to relax. Long walks, backyard play, games of fetch, or just snuggling up for a nap—West Coast is all in. He does best as the only pet, preferring to be the center of your world, and has been great with respectful older kids. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, he brings a gentle, easy-going energy to his interactions with people. His ideal home has a cozy couch, some yard space for sunbathing, and a family who wants a real partner in cuddles and loyalty. As a fun fact, West Coast is an Aries—known for big-hearted devotion and boundless enthusiasm. His shelter days are behind him, but he's still waiting for his forever home. What are you waiting for?
