About West Coast
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Once facing an uncertain fate in a crowded Atlanta shelter, West Coast is now a shining example of resilience and love. This handsome black and white boy, rescued from the euthanasia list, has blossomed after months of care in a dedicated foster home. With a gentle, affectionate spirit, he's left his past behind and is ready for a new beginning—a forever family of his own. At five years old, this medium-sized pitbull mix (weighing about 60 lbs) is truly the definition of a "velvet hippo." West Coast adores snuggling on the couch, giving sweet kisses, and greeting his people with joyful wiggles. His affectionate and goofy nature makes every day brighter, and he's convinced he's the perfect lap dog. West Coast is a gentleman in the home: fully house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. He knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay," and his treat-motivation makes him eager to learn new things. With a fantastic "on/off" switch, he’s always up for a walk or fetch but is equally content as a nap companion. Living with other dogs in his foster home, West Coast enjoys canine company with proper introductions. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, he has been wonderful with respectful older children. He dreams of a home that appreciates his journey, with a comfy couch, plenty of ear scratches, and a family to call his own. A fenced-in yard for sunshine and zoomies would be a bonus! Born on April 18, he's a determined Aries—expect a loyal and courageous companion who’s ready for every adventure. West Coast's story isn’t complete until he finds his forever home. Could it be with you? Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
