Linus
AvailableLinus is a medium-sized, senior mixed breed dog with Terrier and Dachshund heritage, currently in Spring City, PA. He is neutered, house trained, and around 10 lbs. Linus does not have special needs, but is looking for a gentle environment with other dogs. He’s a male dog who would thrive with patient, loving adopters.
About Linus
Linus is a sweet, cautious little guy who’s seen his share of hard days. He spent nearly two years in a West Virginia shelter and it shows in his initial skittishness and uncertainty with people. Despite his rough start, Linus is beginning to trust again and gets visibly excited about his second shot at life. He is quietly affectionate and seems most at ease around other dogs, often seeking them out for comfort. He truly gains confidence from canine companions, so a home with at least one other dog is best for him. Linus handles his walks with calm, steady manners, and is very food motivated, which will help him continue to adjust. At about 10 lbs, he remains quiet and is not reactive, even in new situations. He’s not suited for homes with small children, as sudden movements and unfamiliar hands can make him anxious. Linus is open to living with cats, especially since he seems more intimidated than reactive around them. Give him a gentle, predictable home and he’ll keep blossoming at his own pace. Questions about Linus
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Linus, as a Terrier/Dachshund mix, does best in a quiet, stable home with a predictable routine. A household with other friendly dogs provides him the confidence and support he needs after his long shelter stay.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Terrier/Dachshund mixes like Linus benefit from regular walks and access to a safe yard, but he doesn't require a large outdoor space—just time outside with supervision and company.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Linus, given his senior age and skittishness, is not suited for homes with small children. Older, respectful kids would be a better fit for him.
