FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Checkers! This adorable 1.5-year-old, 9.5 LB Chihuahua mix (possibly with a little Rat Terrier in there!) is as cute as his name. With his black and white spots and happy personality, Checkers is sure to steal hearts wherever he goes! He’s a sweet, spunky little guy who loves being with his people—whether that’s going on walks, exploring new places, or cuddling up for some downtime. Checkers walks well on leash and is very treat-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He’s doing great with other dogs, especially those closer to his size. He just needs slow introductions with bigger dogs, as he can be a bit unsure and vocal at first. Checkers came to us a little underweight, so he’s working on filling out and will need adopters who can continue that journey with him.
