Joseph is an approximately 7-year-old Terrier mix that currently weighs 20 lbs. He joined the rescue after being found injured and laying in bushes for a couple of days. He’s all healed up and putting that all behind. Joseph aka as JoeJoe is a lap dog that very much enjoys sitting in your lap or right next to you. When it’s cold you’ll find him under the covers (couch always has a blanket on it for JoeJoe). He is very fond of treats & chewies. He’ll put on a dance performance for you when you break out the treats. He likes several healthy snack options: blueberries, bananas, apples, tomatoes, celery, peas & carrots. He’s always up for a walk and gets very excited just seeing the leash. He likes squeaky toys, and he has a favorite type…. lamb chops. He’ll settle for other similar small ones that easily fit in his mouth. He started out really appreciating his toys, carrying them around, licking them, protecting them and now he’s been introduced to the must destuff and get squeaky out. We affectionately refer to his toys by name…you guessed it “squeaky.” Joseph may look like an old man, but this “old man” plays daily. He will play with you, by himself or with his doggy friends. Let’s talk about his friends because yes, he has a type. When it comes to humans he loves everyone and is very outgoing. When it comes to dogs well, he does not like medium size or large dogs. That only leaves small dogs…. well, he gravitates more towards small female dogs. He is very selective about small male dogs, and he’s even met some small female dogs he has tolerated but didn’t necessarily like in the home. This dog selective guy when he finds a small female friend he’s hooked. He’s had many he bonded with since being in his foster home that he was sad when they got adopted. His BFF’s he’ll play, wrestle and protect from other scary dogs. He’s loyal to the core once he finds a buddy. Since Joseph can be dog selective, he must meet every dog in the home before adoption. A secured fenced yard is required. He loves the backyard. On nice days he likes to squirrel & bird watch. One other thing worth noting, leave the nail trims to the professionals unless you are into making viral videos of the performance that Joseph puts on to attempt to get out of a trim. Yes, he is that guy. He'll try everything to get out of it including but not limited to screaming, squirming and offering to bite when the others fail. He is a very sweet dog he just doesn't like his feet being messed with aka his nails. JoeJoe is crate, leash & potty trained. His foster home has a doggy door which he has really came to enjoy. At night he likes to sleep in his human's bed & will cuddle up next to you all night. He will 100% expect to sleep under the covers. His first night he made his way up to bed then nudged his way under the covers making himself at home like he’s probably done his whole life. Joseph is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, current on HW preventative and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $225.
