Papaya is a striking, large Domestic Short Hair with a very big personality who’s searching for a cat-savvy, adult-only home that values quiet and predictability. She isn’t a cat for first-timers. Papaya insists on affection by her own rules—when she wants to cuddle, she’s incredibly sweet and wants to be close, but her human needs to pay attention to her body language at all times. She has a reputation for switching from snuggly to “tiny crocodile” when overstimulated and has bitten before, including her foster and previous adopters. Understanding and respect for boundaries are absolutely required. Papaya must be your only pet and cannot be around children. She shouldn’t sleep in her person’s bed and needs structure and patience, but once her trust is earned, she can form a deeply loyal bond. She’s a complex cat looking for someone who appreciates her spicy side and is willing to meet her where she’s at. Fun fact: Papaya is a Virgo—so she’ll love a routine and clear boundaries.
