Meet Grifter! According to Google: ‘A con man is a broad term for a swindler, while a grifter is a type of con artist who specifically uses charm, persuasion, or deceit in more public, opportunistic ways to manipulate people out of money through elaborate, sometimes petty, schemes.’ Our boy charmed his way into a lot of free meals and a shelter when he turned up at Grace’s house. Then he presented with some medical issues and because he doesn’t have health insurance (do they ever?), he manipulated his way into our facility to get veterinary care where we did find his time on the streets left him FIV+. Grifter turned a new leaf immediately after coming back from the vet. He hadn’t let us within a foot of him, but suddenly was head butting hands post-op. He had some fractured canine teeth that had to come out, was neutered, and shaved down where mats had become unmanageable. He is so relieved to be here, and he is looking for his forever home!
