Mercedes
AvailableMercedes is a young, medium-sized Domestic Long Hair with a gray and white coat in Waynesville, NC. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and fully house trained. Mercedes has special medical needs related to a congenital condition that affects her kidneys, requiring a special diet. She thrives in the company of other cats and prefers a calm, understanding environment where she can blossom at her own pace.
About Mercedes
Mercedes was rescued after being spotted dodging cars across a busy highway just to get a meal from a dumpster. Auto parts store employees watched her carefully navigate traffic, eventually coaxing her to safety. Now, she's adjusting to life in foster care. Mercedes is very shy and takes her time warming up to new people, but she truly comes alive around other cats. Her closest friend is Dobby, another foster cat. They bring out the best in each other—Mercedes gives Dobby a boost in confidence, and he puts her at ease. Ideally, they'd find a home together. During Mercedes’s spay surgery, vets discovered a rare congenital condition (uterus unicornis), meaning she was born with only one uterine horn. The surgery was a success, but this condition has mildly affected her kidney function. She now eats a special kidney-support diet and, with attentive care, should thrive for years to come. Mercedes and Dobby are being fostered in a home setting; appointments can be arranged to meet them. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
