About Wacko

Wacko came to safety after being rescued from the Medio fire in 2020, and since then, he’s come into his own in the company of other cats. People aren’t really his thing, at least not right away—he’s shy around humans and prefers to keep a safe distance. Around cats, though, Wacko relaxes. He’s happiest napping on high perches or curled up inside a cat tree tunnel, with a stash of crunchy treats nearby. While he welcomes gentle pets from trusted friends, he’s never demanding and seems content as long as he’s got a feline companion. Wacko would do best in a home with another friendly cat and maybe even a catio where he can safely enjoy fresh air. Given his preference for calm, adult environments, a patient adopter who understands his shyness will help him settle in best. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Wacko

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Domestic cats like Wacko adapt well to indoor homes, especially those with cozy perches and spots to retreat. A quiet, stable environment works best, particularly for more reserved cats like him.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Wacko and other domestic short hairs do not require outdoor access, but they do benefit from a safe catio or enclosed space for enrichment. Indoor living with plenty of climbing options and windows can keep them happy.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Domestic short hairs can be good with children, but since Wacko is shy, a quieter home with adults or older kids who respect his boundaries would likely be a better fit.
