About Andie
Andie is that rare ginger girl who keeps you guessing. She’s somewhere between 2 and 3 years old, with classic British Shorthair seriousness and a personality that unfolds at her own pace. After losing her previous owner, she landed in the shelter system before finally winding up with a foster who’s giving her the space to re-learn trust. Andie prefers to be the only cat in the home—her foster has several cats, but Andie makes it clear she’d rather not share her people. When she’s comfortable, Andie transforms into a top-tier cuddler, draped over chests and laps at night. She purrs, grumbles, and keeps things entertaining. She has solid indoor manners and appreciates choice: given access to a secure catio or screened porch, she’ll happily spend her time napping outside. Andie has no interest in being carried or cuddled on demand; she picks her moments. During playtime, she’ll let you know—with a swipe, claws in—if she’s had enough. Her favorite games involve a wand toy or squishy ball, though these new amusements seem novel for her. Kids don’t faze her, but she doesn’t go out of her way to bond. She runs to the kitchen at meal times and waits her turn politely with the other cats. At adoption events, she’s not the type to ham it up for attention—an in-person home visit is a better way to get to know her. A Pisces (born March 1), Andie brings a low-key, gently quirky energy. She’s happiest in a relaxed household where she can manage her own boundaries and routines. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Andie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Andie, as a British Shorthair/Tabby mix, does best in a calm environment where she has safe, secure spaces to call her own. A chill home that gives her choices and respects her boundaries will suit her personality.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
British Shorthairs like Andie mostly prefer indoor life, but she especially enjoys secure outdoor access—like a screened porch or catio. She doesn't require free roaming but does benefit from safe outdoor perches.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
British Shorthairs tend to be patient but independent. Andie is indifferent to children, as seen with her foster’s 8-year-old son, so she can coexist but isn't likely to seek them out for attention.
