About Raya

Raya’s life began on the Rez, and she’s come through a lot—raising a litter of puppies, tangling with a porcupine, and figuring out what it means to trust people. She’s looking for a home where someone understands (or is willing to learn about) dogs with separation anxiety. Raya thrives when she has a confident dog friend by her side, especially one who can kennel beside her so she can feel safe and relaxed. While she loves roughhousing, playing with toys, and plenty of zoomies, she’s also a champion cuddler when night falls. She’s kennel trained (preferring a plastic kennel to a wire one), house trained, and used to sleeping both in a bed or her kennel. While she’s known to have a strong prey drive, so cats and small animals are a no-go, she gets along well with other dogs and could potentially do well with kids—she just hasn’t had the chance to meet any yet. Her fosters haven’t had trouble with Raya escaping, but her history suggests that secure fencing and doors are important. She’s about three years old and weighs 45 lbs, a solid fit for many homes. Raya would love a household with humans around most of the time, especially those who work from home, and guarantees you a mix of love, laughs, and loyal companionship. Ready to make her yours?
