Think you are the one? Submit an application! Meet Pete! This soulful-eyed 6-year-old, 60-pound boy is searching for a patient and understanding home where he’ll feel safe, loved, and secure. Pete has faced some tough times in his life, so he’ll need a little extra time to decompress and settle into his new surroundings. With your kindness and commitment, Pete will gradually open up and learn to trust, building a bond with you that will last a lifetime. Although Pete may seem hesitant and insecure at first, his loyalty and affection are unmatched once he feels comfortable. In exchange for your patience, you’ll gain a devoted companion who loves to be by your side, whether you’re working from home—he’s the perfect work buddy, content to lay at your feet—or unwinding at the end of the day together for some quality couch cuddles. Pete is currently fostered in a home with several other dogs, both big and small, young and old. With the proper introductions, this medium-energy fellow enjoys daily yard romps with his canine pals! Because of his insecurities, Pete would do best with older kids who understand his boundaries. He prefers a feline-free environment.
