About Darcy
Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll? Darcy is a charming 17 lb, four-year-old Schnauzer/Poodle mix who found herself searching for a new family after her beloved owner passed away. She was rescued alongside her siblings after they weren’t adopted, and she’s been thriving in her foster home with three other dogs ever since. Darcy is housebroken and crate trained, although she's a bit of an escape artist who sometimes tries to slip out of her crate. She is still perfecting her leash skills but already shines in the car, relishes sleeping beside her human, and is a perfect companion when dining out. Darcy forms quick, loving bonds, especially with her female human, and adores both people and dogs. She’d also flourish as an only pet if someone is home most of the time. As she settles in, Darcy may initially howl a little when left alone. She hasn't been tested with children, and is likely to chase cats, so a home without felines is best. Because she has a knack for escaping, Darcy must go to a single-family home with a fully secured, fenced yard—no climbable items allowed near the fence. Preference is given to Orange County adopters to ensure plenty of support as Darcy transitions to her forever home. As a fun fact, Darcy is a Pisces—known for their loving, sensitive, and loyal nature, which perfectly matches her sweet personality. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
