Meet Frankie: The One-Eyed Wonder Full of Love and Laughter Frankie’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her spirit is unbreakable. This beautiful girl is around 6–7 years old now and has been waiting far too long as DFW Furgotten Friends Rescue’s longest resident, still hoping for her happily-ever-after. With her signature permanent wink (she lost one eye but gained so much charm) and her constantly wagging tail, Frankie is always smiling — even after all she’s been through. Her joy is contagious. She’s a devoted companion who loves people, adores older kiddos, and lights up every room she walks into. Before coming to her current boarding facility, Frankie was in a boarding facility where an employee purposely put her in unsafe situations with other dogs just to get bitten and obtain pain medication. ? Because of that trauma, she’s been labeled as needing to be the only pet — but we believe, with slow and patient introductions, Frankie could coexist with other dogs or even cats. Frankie is now in a new, safer boarding facility where she’s thriving, but it’s no substitute for a real home.
