Hi! We’re Piston (white/brown) & Tamarin (black), and even though we’re brothers from another mother, you couldn’t find a more bonded pair than us! We both had a rough beginning on the mean streets of LA but have since blossomed together in our foster home so it would be so awesome to find a furever family who will have room in their home and hearts for the both of us. Piston – I was found at an auto repair shop in pretty decent shape considering. I may be on the smaller side, but I have the biggest purr motor! I’m super affectionate and love love! If I could, I would attach myself to you 24/7. I will snuggle into any nook on my person I can find. If you’re looking for a lap kitty, I’m your guy! I’m very adventurous and love to explore. I love toys I can carry in my mouth or shoot across the floor – springs, small mice, crunchy balls, balls with bells inside. Tamarin – I was found at an apartment complex in pretty rough shape, but I’m very healthy now and sometimes forget how much bigger than Piston I am when we wrestle, my favorite pastime. I toughened him up, and he softened me up. See, I was pretty spicy when I was first rescued. My foster mom had to put me in a purrito to get me used to being held and to learn to trust humans. Slowly I figured out that all the pets and kisses and loving actually felt really good. I’m not a Velcro kitty like my brother, but I’ve come pretty far from those first days. I’ll enjoy a cuddle puddle with foster mom and brother for a little bit, but then I need my space to stretch out and snooze. I’m not as adventurous as my brother but will follow his lead. In addition to the toys listed above, I love playing with TP and paper towel cardboard rolls. You don’t have to spend a lot on me! I’m excellent at independent playtime. While Piston is loving on his human, I’m off playing on my own. I may look like a tough guy, but when Piston is out of my sight, I’ll cry out for him until he’s by my side once again. Adopting the two of us may seem like more work, but in reality, it's the opposite! We'll keep each other entertained, especially if you can't be home with us all day. And we just love each other so much! Currently in foster care in Koreatown. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue. We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized. We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis. When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family. If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
