About Lobo

Lobo has been in foster care with us since September 2025. He was also fostered with a female dog, Daisy (A1251872), who was adopted in November 2025. Lobo met Daisy on the same evening they came home to be a part of our family. They adjusted beautifully together. Lobo looked up to Daisy and really enjoyed having her as a companion. Lobo is an adventure enthusiast and goes out on adventures with his handler to lakes and parks, hiking, shopping, outdoor patio dining, and errands. He enjoys the company of other medium sized dogs or greater, as well as likes to be independent, too. While living with Daisy, his foster sibling, Lobo shared eagerly and sometimes even presented and offered his toys to Daisy, which was very sweet. As his trusted fosters, he will gaze at us with his gorgeous sky-blue eyes and show us so much affection. Lobo is a happy-go-lucky pup with good manners and a charming smile. Yes, he smiles as he gazes into your eyes while getting pets and massaging around his face. He is energetic, playful, joyful and inquisitive. He has heightened awareness and eagerly investigates the sights, sounds, and smells of nature. He is at his most content on walks and car rides and is happy to meet other passersby and dog companions. Lobo is comfortable with people and children of all ages. He is crate trained, leash trained and potty trained. He knows basic commands and continues to learn more. Loboโ€™s tail wags and he will follow you when he sees his brushes in anticipation of being groomed. Lobo loves the attention, and it will usually result in him rolling onto his back because he relishes it so much. He sits still for his baths and nail trims as well. He receives glowing reviews! When a walk is announced, Lobo runs to his harness and awaits while it is fastened as he associates his harness with an adventure- a car ride or walk. Lobo happily enters his crate on his own, which the door is kept open to. It is associated with reward and we use treats, toys and praise to incentivize that. At nighttime, Lobo sleeps in his dog bed in the master bedroom throughout the night. Lobo was heartworm positive when he entered Dallas Animal Services originally. While he was treated for heartworm at the shelter, a one-time allowance, it is often recommended to treat again a second time for greater success. As a foster, I arranged a second treatment with our own veterinarian to ensure Loboโ€™s best chance at eliminating the heartworm. It required 4-6 weeks of rest and so Loboโ€™s walks were more sniff-strolls during recovery. Now that Lobo has recovered, he was thrilled to pick up the pace again. Lobo is naturally high energy and treasures exploring. Lobo will need a heartworm test to ensure he is heartworm negative summer of 2026. Loboโ€™s adopter will need to ensure this test is completed. Lobo would love space to run in his own backyard or even a larger property on several acres or ranch. He is ready for all sorts of adventures with his special person, his forever family. He would love more than anything to be included on hikes, trips, or simply sitting alongside you at your favorite coffee shop. He is the ideal traveling companion! Lobo is a perfect, sweet buddy and a joy to foster!
