About Hamilton Iv

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Hamilton (also known as Hambone): he is the ultimate love bug searching for a forever home. This 5-year-old pit bull terrier is sweet, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to being by your side. Hamilton came into rescue after a rough patch but has proven to be an incredibly gentle, affectionate, and eager-to-please companion. Anyone who meets him is quickly charmed by his hugs, kisses, and heartwarming smile. Hamilton is famous for his heartfelt hugs and kisses, always eager to show his affection. His low-energy and easygoing temperament make him an ideal partner for quiet evenings. His adorable snores will bring a smile to your face during nap time. While he’s still discovering all the fun of toys, he already enjoys fetching, chewing, and carrying them throughout the house. As a velcro dog, Hamilton loves sticking close and showering his humans with love. He fits in beautifully with his foster family’s dogs, ranging from a small senior chihuahua mix to a larger shepherd/pittie mix. He enjoys tag-style play after slow introductions, keeping his play friendly and spirited without being overly rough or mouthy. Hamilton has also spent time with a toddler in his foster home and was sweet and gentle, though his love for full-body hugs and closeness means he would do best with older kids. Peaceful routines suit Hamilton: while he is not really crated anymore and prefers his cozy bed, he makes his own schedule and is happy to nap as needed. His fosters keep him safely in the bathroom when they’re away, and he’s fully potty trained—no accidents at all. Hamilton is leash trained, though he’s still learning not to pull as much on walks. His days are a delightful blend of walks, quick potty breaks, backyard play, and, of course, evening snuggles. Hamilton would thrive in a home that matches his calm and loving demeanor. Whether it’s a single person, a couple, or a family with older children, he hopes for a laid-back household. Hamilton enjoys play time and could have a dog sibling or be the sole pet as long as there’s ample affection, love, and cuddles to share. He’s ready to leave the past behind and begin anew in a caring home committed to his happiness. If you want an affectionate, laid-back companion eager to shower you with love, Hamilton is your perfect match. All HSDC, Humane Society of Dallas County, adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines at adoption. Standard adoption donations apply.
